In recognition of the difficulties competitors are having in correctly fitting and securing the Hans devices Monaghan Motor Club have orgainsed a training afternoon.
Scrutineers and experienced rally competitors will be on hand to help and there will be a number of helmets and Hans devices available to show how it should be done.
We invite all those entered in the Monaghan stages rally on 26th April, who may not be familiar with these devices, to attend. 
Please bring your rally car so that it may be checked for seat height etc.
Non entrants are welcome to come without rally cars.

Seven rallies, encompassing eight scoring opportunities. With the series featuring nineteen classes, it is open to most rally cars, and at the end of the season the class winners along with a couple of wildcard entries will get the chance to contest the Excel shootout, to decide the big prize winners. First prize is a Super 1600 drive in 2010, on four Excel rounds, a superb prize worth €20,000. For second place there are two Super 1600 drives, worth €10,000, third place is one event worth €5000, and there are cash prizes of €1000 for fourth to seventh places, making the total prize fund of €39,000. However as if that isn’t enough to entice competitors, the registration is free in 2009! The man behind Excel Rallying, Paul Roche comments. “We want to really build the series this year so that competitors can see that it is a properly run championship, and that we want to give something valuable to the competitor, so we are investing heavily in the championship. There is the added bonus of TV coverage from with On the Limit Sports, and dedicated press releases after each round. We hope this will give added value to competitors, and help them to find sponsors this year. It has taken us a couple of attempts to get the series off the ground properly, and after meetings with Motorsport Ireland, we think that we have come up with a more manageable series of events and something that provides a superb opportunity for competitors.”
With a dedicated website so that competitors can keep track of their positions, and indeed update their profiles, a series co-ordinator at all the rounds and discounts on supplies and hire deals from Excel Rallying it presents an all in package.
